Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced that 4.1 million families will be provided with Family Cards this year.

He made this statement on Friday afternoon (September 11) at a ceremony held at the BNP Chairman’s office in Gulshan, the capital, where he distributed grant checks to the authorities of mosques and temples falling under the Dhaka-17 constituency.

At the event, he also stated that the government is striving to resolve the electricity and fuel crisis.

The Prime Minister noted that the electricity and fuel crisis is a global issue, the effects of which are also being felt in Bangladesh. He added that the government is actively working to resolve this problem and is also attempting to explore 130 gas wells across the country.

He stated that, similar to oil and electricity, some unscrupulous individuals are involved in illegal activities concerning gas. He emphasized that to advance the country, everyone must work unitedly. Resistance must be built against those who commit illegal acts and wrongdoing. He assured that no one would be allowed to illegally appropriate state assets.

The Prime Minister, referring to instances where state assets were used for personal gain in the past, stated that the government is making its utmost efforts to ensure that no one can exploit state resources for individual benefit.
